Can fishing be sexy? Yes, it can! On a beautiful yacht, in a helicopter or on a remote private beach, fishing can be exiting, exhilarating, entertaining and indeed, sexy.
Here at Go Fish Australia, we approach things a little differently as we focus on luxury fishing experiences across Australia. Not content with just providing an incredible backdrop or just the right yacht, we focus on the fishing to ensure each adventure produces a successful catch.
How do we do this? We combine 35 years’ of tourism and events experience with 40 years of fishing journalism in Australia to produce the most unique, targeted fishing experiences on the planet.
We understand that some people fish for pleasure and others for sport. Some treat fishing as a hobby where for others, it is an obsession. Like any sport, there are varying levels of knowledge, expertise and participation. And Go Fish are really good at catering to each level of skill and expectation, and then we exceed those expectations in our delivery.
Not every person who likes to fish wants the same outcome, and not every person who likes to fish wants the same experience, and that’s why we approach each fishing adventure with individuality and style.
We brand most of our experiences with the term, “rough-luxe”, a luxury experience without the gold and marble. Rough-Luxe is a moment in time, not just part of an object of consumption. Luxury can also be an enriching personal experience with people, nature and the environment, as well as food, culture and speciality pursuits. An experience that is so unique it is considered luxury by its very nature.
A helicopter at dawn to a remote island to meet your fishing guide, who is waiting with your rods and delicious hot coffee, or air transfers by private jet to the best fishing location in Australia at a particular time of year. Add to this gourmet food and beverage, stunning yachts and private fishing guides and you have just the right ingredients for a luxury fishing experience. There is a reason we serve top shelf whiskey to our guests whilst fishing, no matter what time of day!
There are fishing fanatics who travel each year to catch a specific type of fish or to experience a particular region known for good fishing. In Australia, we are lucky to host such a variety of species that can be fished all year round, positioning Australia as a key fishing destination internationally. Whether that’s fresh water, deep water, fly fishing or heavy tackle fishing, we have the right people in the right locations to ensure a successful fishing vacation.
Whether you want to catch a giant marlin on the Great Barrier Reef or a barramundi in remote Australia (whilst dodging crocodiles), we know when and we know where those fish are biting at any time of year. We then combine this with luxury inclusions that will leave even the most discerning guest impressed.
Did you know there are more fishing rods sold in Australia than there are pushbikes?
As an Island nation, with 90% of its population living close to the ocean, most Australians have grown up with fishing in their blood. Because of this, we are not only passionate about our fishing but also in guarding our fishing assets by practising sustainable fishing and protecting the environment in which our species dwell. And so it makes sense that some of the best fishing guides live in Australia.
Go Fish has always been successful in transforming a bucket-list dream into an adrenalin-filled reality. In 2019, Go Fish was listed in the Top 50 Tours of the World by Traveller Magazine for our One Day Outback Fishing Experience, a helicopter escape to the rivers and streams of Outback Australia to catch the elusive Murray Cod.
Starting with an early morning limousine transfer from a Brisbane or Gold Coast hotel, we meet our guests in a plush six-seater Airbus H125 helicopter for the journey west, travelling over the city skyline, over beaches, rainforests and waterfalls until the land below changes colour to the browns and reds of the Australian outback.
Upon landing, our guests are introduced to their personal fishing guide who has their rods ready plus a hot selection of pastries, coffee and of course, a good whiskey if required. Soon our guests are fishing through pristine gorges, kayaking up skinny water rivers, fishing rapids and even under waterfalls. All of the fishing is catch and release to preserve the species.
After many hours of indulgent fishing with our guide, our guests can choose to end the day beside the river at the campfire, with a cold beverage in hand and a delicious gourmet selection of meals cooked before them over the open fire. Or, we can whisk them away in the helicopter to a local cattle homestead for a feast of food and wine fit for a king. Overnight accommodation is also an option with a chance to fish again at dawn the following day.
Go Fish have just replicated this experience from Cairns in Australia’s far north for a valuable client. This will be available to future guests very soon.
We have a large selection of helicopter fishing experiences available right across Australia, such as a one-day fishing experience to the World Heritage Listed Fraser Island, with private four-wheel drive transfers and private fishing guide. Or, we offer heli-fishing in Australia’s remote north where you’ll have to outsmart the crocodiles before landing. On the Great Barrier Reef, our guests travel by helicopter to a remote coral cay where they are met by their fishing guide before the yacht anchors nearby ready to serve you lunch, before the sunset journey home.
But its not just helicopters. In Sydney, take our seaplane from the magnificent Sydney Harbour to the Hawkesbury River where your fishing guide awaits, ready for some incredible fishing. Finish the day at one of Sydney’s best restaurants before the very scenic flight back over Sydney Harbour.
Go Fish Australia understand the level of detail required to turn your fishing holiday expectations into an extraordinary, luxury and indeed, sexy experience at any time of year.
