Hotel Review: Cap D’Antibes Beach Hotel by Carmen Caballero
Month Visited: October 2017
Type of visit: Couples
Length of stay: 1 night
Check-in and first impressions:
Very easy drive from NCE (Nice Cote D’Azur Airport), approximately 25 minutes. The valet parking was at the entrance of the hotel and asked us for our names, once he took the car with our luggage, we checked in, and our room was ready. Luggage was in our room 5 minutes later. Check in was fast and we got offered a welcome drink–lemonade.
Room type and first impressions– size, views, wardrobe, decor, welcome amenities… :
We booked a deluxe room with a private balcony. Our room had a partial ocean view and was over looking a small port. The rooms was a very nice size (32m2), it was modern, wardrobes were a comfortable size, the terrace was very nice to order room service it had a nice table and chairs. To be a Relais and Chateaux property, I was impressed how modern the decoration was. We received 2 chocolate cakes and a bottle of Rose Wine as welcome ammenities.
Bathroom was modern and big. We had a shower and a bathtub with L’Occitane ammenities. It was private, but partially open to the room so we did get sunlight from our terrace, which was nice.
It is complimentary for all guests and it worked really well throughout the property. Easy to connect.
Beach Area: The hotel has a private beach club with a very good restaurant. The pool is just steps away from the beach which is also nice. Beach area is very clean and staff is very attentive.
Just beside the beach lies a lovely infinity pool. The pool has the same sun beds as in the beach and overlooks at the sea.
Beach restaurant- Cape Town:
Excellent food and service, we loved the club sandwich and the burger. There was a good price-quality-quantity relation. Service was fast.
Gourmet restaurant- Les Pecheurs:
The restaurant has 1-michelin star. We had the eggs with Cecina de Leon first and second ‘Langouste Royal’ which was amazing. We shared the plates, although we were not very hungry, the food was delicious and service was excellent.
Also served were the gourmet restaurant is located, breakfast was alright. Views were stunning. We had complimentary continental breakfast included. We usually have Eggs Benedict or Omelettes, and this had an extra price. The buffet did not have many options and pastries were quite small. I would say this is the only “Con” I found at the hotel. The buffet breakfast included was just basic.
Pet friendly hotel:
YES. Hotels offer two bowls and a bed for your pet. Pets are allowed in all areas except inside restaurants and at the beach club.
Walking distance from Juan Les Pins, with plenty of restaurants and shops, and Belles Rives Hotel.
What I loved the most:
I loved the room decoration and how modern this Relais Chateaux property was. Also, There are not many good hotels in the French Riviera which have a private beach, so this is a very positive point. Loved the pool area too.
