The demand for exclusive accommodations capable of satisfying customers with high purchasing power does not stop growing and the large chains, aware of this, are betting more and more on the opening of new luxury hotels. Of beach, of city, in incredible natural surroundings, of design, with gastronomic offer of first, or with services unimaginable … the 24 hours of the day.
This year, dozens of them will be opened around the world; Establishments that will delight the most demanding, fit, however, for very few pockets. Even if only to daydream, we present eight luxury hotels that will see the light in 2017.
1. The Alcobas. Napa Valley (California)
March 21 is the expected opening date of this boutique hotel built among vineyards in St. Helena, in the Napa Valley, California known for its wineries. Considered by many as the most beautiful establishment in the area, it will have 68 rooms with terrace with incredible views over the vineyards.
Among the great attractions of the Hotel Las Alcobas is its cuisine, run by Chris Cosentino, a young chef awarded with his daring culinary proposals; Its heated outdoor pool, and the refined and relaxing atmosphere.
2. The Silo. Cape Town (South Africa)
The name of this hotel offers some clues to its location. The Silo, which opens this March in one of South Africa’s three capitals, is located on top of a former grain store on Victoria & Albert Quay in Cape Town, a building that in 1921 reached Be the highest building in sub-Saharan Africa.

This luxury hotel, belonging to the Oetker Collection, will have 141 rooms – including 9 suites – overlooking the park. Chef Jean-Georges Vongerichten, who has run a number of Michelin-starred restaurants, will conduct the dining experiences of the establishment, with an exclusive restaurant, “chef’s table”, bar, wine cellar and lounge bar, among other spaces.
4. Park Hyatt St. Kitts. San Cristóbal (Saint Kitts and Nevis)
When you open your doors in summer, the Park Hyatt St. Kitts will undoubtedly be one of the finest hotels in the Caribbean. Located in the heart of Banana Bay, on the island of San Cristobal, on a spectacular beach overlooking Nevis, you will be able to feel in a real paradise.
The establishment, which is part of the super-luxury complex of Puerto Christophe – has an exclusive yacht club and golf courses – will have 134 rooms, many of them with a rooftop swimming pool; Suites with butler service and personal chef; private beach; Pools with infinity edge, or upscale themed restaurants.
5. Itz’ana Resort & Residences. Belize
The inauguration of this small country resort in Belize is scheduled for next summer. Itz’ana will have 47 rooms and 47 bungalow-style residences by the sea, with incredible views over the waters of the Caribbean, and marina.
The central building of this complex will feature, among other spaces, an exclusive restaurant run by chef Mara Jernigan, a private rum lounge, cocktails, a Hemingway inspired library or a rooftop terrace.
Light invades every corner of this five-star superior, which will feature 131 rooms and suites with floor-to-ceiling glass windows and various restaurant offerings, one of which is run by a prestigious chef. Also worthy of mention are the rooftop restaurant, where you can enjoy incredible sunsets and two infinity pools – inside and outside -.
The inauguration in autumn of this hotel, which has invested a hundred million euros, has become an event in a city in which it has not opened its doors an establishment of these characteristics for 18 years.
7. Eden. Rome, Italy
Located in the heart of the business district of the Eternal Capital, close to Via Veneto, the Spanish Steps and Villa Borghese, Hotel Eden has been for decades one of the city’s great luxury establishments.
In April it will reopen renovated, maintaining the attractions that made it famous, such as La Terrazza, a restaurant with spectacular views that has welcomed personalities from all over the world. With a reduced number of rooms – from 121 to 98 – and a redesign of its rooms, this century-old hotel now in the hands of the Dorchester Collection promises to shine again as it once did.
8. Nayara Luxury Tented Resort. Arenal (Costa Rica)
If you are looking for authentic luxury in the middle of nature, the Nayra Luxury Tented Resort will not disappoint. Located in Arenal Volcano National Park, one of Costa Rica’s great attractions, it will offer the possibility of staying in one of its 24 exclusive tents before the end of 2017.
Each shop in this glamping will have a suite with bathroom, thermal pool and a second space that can be used as a living room or second bedroom. Facilities at the resort include a restaurant, private pavilions for dining, swimming pool with bar, spa services and a children’s club become an interactive learning center on tropical rainforest ecology. The 360º views from the top are absolutely wonderful.
